Steeped in history
Although incorporated in 1986, Cave Creek has over one hundred years of history. Ranchers, sheepherders, gold miners, artisans, preservationists, equestrians, politicians, and ordinary folk looking for a special way of life have all left their mark on the Town.
Small town atmosphere
With a population of only about 5,000, life moves a little slower. Creekers take the time to know your name. There's an old fashioned main street with restaurants, shops, services and even the occasional parade-predominantly in a quaint western theme. The Town councilmen are volunteers. The Sheriff keeps the peace. And the local newspapers still exercise the power of the pen.
Activities abound
If you get restless, there is something close by for everyone. If golf is your passion, the Village at Surrey Hills is for you. Each unit comes with a fully paid membership at the nearby Rancho Manana Golf Resort for all owners. The eighteen-hole golf course amenities include a driving range, a practice putting green, a chipping area, a golf shop with locker rooms, and the renowned Tonto Bar and Grill. Horseback ride at Spur Cross Ranch. Boat at Bartlett Lake, hike a mountain, walk the publicly dedicated Conestoga Trail which frames the western boundary of our community, or cycle the surrounding hillsides. You can also go antiquing downtown.

Nature's best
Majestic mountains and high Sonoran desert are the foundation for the area's incredible natural beauty. At 2,100 feet above sea level, temperatures are markedly cooler here in the mornings and evenings especially. The Town has preserved more than 5,000 acres of natural open space and intends to nearly double it, ensuring the native landscape and wildlife for people to continue enjoying in the serenity of Cave Creek.
